Metallurgical and Materials Engineering is the tenth founded department of Engineering Faculty of Kocaeli University. Regarding the extensive industries in province of Kocaeli, a department was need in order to give engineering education in material science and to serve the local industries. Our department was established in the year 1994.

We offer B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Metallurgical and Materials Science Engineering since 1995. Moreover, our department has been offered in B.Sc. level through secondary education program, since 2000. Currently, the department has 11 academic staff, 5 research assistants and 750 students.
